Tote Bags

Tote Bags are medium to large square shaped bags with double handles. Generally they have an open top, although more and more brands are offering totes with zip tops and magnetic closures. They are great at holding all your necessities from books to beachwear to everyday items so that, they are also used as a office bags. The tote originated in the 1940's and since then has become a mainstay in the bag world. You can even take them shopping, which is sometimes why they are referred to as "shoppers".They are also used for the journey as a traveling bags.

The archetypal tote is of sturdy cloth, perhaps with thick leather at handles or bottom; all-leather versions often have a pebbled surface. Common fabrics include heavy canvas, often dyed, perhaps treated to resist moisture and mold. Jute is another traditional material, though less popular. In recent decades, heavy nylon and other easy-care synthetics have become common, though most tend to degrade with prolonged sun-exposure. And today's inexpensive/free tote is often made from recycled matter, from minimally-processed natural fibers, or from byproducts of process that refine organic materials.

• Evening totes - these totes are smaller in size and bedecked with sequins with shiny finishing like satin or silk. 
• Designer totes - produced by famous designers and fashion houses. They are usually quite expensive and have unique designs and come with additional compartments and pockets. 
• Custom totes - the designs on these totes are often eye-catching such as liberal uses of wordings, famous characters, celebrities and tag lines.
